A Relaxed, Countryside Barn Wedding | Aimee & Matthew
Today I’m sharing the highlights from Aimee and Matthew’s relaxed, countryside barn wedding which they held at Springhill Barn in Worcestershire back at the start of September.
Aimee and Matthew’s wedding took place deep in the Worcestershire countryside in the village of Fladbury. Their ceremony was held at St John the Baptist church, a beautiful Anglian church in the heart of the village, and followed by a reception up the road at Springhill Barn. Springhill itself is a fantastic venue for a laidback country wedding. The owners are really friendly and helpful, and kindly welcomed us when we arrived early in the morning to scout the venue before filming morning preparations. The lakeside location makes for some spectacular photos, and the barn itself, lovingly restored by owner Jonathan and his family is the perfect backdrop for a wedding reception. There are so many places to take photos and film, from little bridges across the river, to the glasshouse by the main house and all of the old farm buildings with crumbling paintwork. Inside, the old wooden beams covered with string lights looked fantastic, and made the barn feel extra cozy and welcoming on what was quite a wet and overcast early September day.
Aimee and Matthew were a joy to film, and didn’t stop laughing all day long. In the morning as I stayed with bride Aimee and her bridesmaids and mum, my husband Ed headed over to the couple’s house to film Matthew getting ready with his best man and his dad. It’s lovely when the groom wants to get in on the action with photography and filmmaking, and I think makes their highlights and longer feature film extra special.
On the day we also had the pleasure of working alongside Gloucestershire based wedding photographer Laura Power.
