An Outdoor Ceremony | A Notley Abbey Wedding
An Outdoor Ceremony at Notley Abbey
Janine and Paul got married at the end of August, on what must have been one of the hottest days of the year. They enjoyed an outdoor ceremony at Notley Abbey in the walls of the old abbey. I’ve filmed at Notley Abbey before for a styled shoot which has recently been published on Wedding Sparrow, but it was a treat to return with Ed to film a proper wedding. Styled shoots are pretty, but I love filming natural reactions, real love, and honest relationships. These are the things that can’t be faked, no matter how good the hair and make-up or how skilled the models or actors! Janine and Paul were surrounded by their family and friends and the atmosphere as they both got ready in the morning was magic with lots of children running around, playing with the lawn games outside, and dipping in and out of the room Janine was getting ready in with her sisters, mum and best friend.
Janine walked the aisle with her father to a special rendition of Codaline’s ‘The One’ sung by the Paper Song Birds, and highlights of the ceremony included a joint reading of ‘Today is a Day’ by the bride’s sisters, which is a popular reading they gave a special twist by standing and reading it together.
Ed and I enjoyed working alongside photographer Aaron Collett, a Northamptonshire based wedding photographer with a really relaxed, documentary approach to weddings. I will update this little blog post with a full list of wedding suppliers in the next few weeks. Janine and Paul chose some excellent vendors including a band for their evening entertainment and I always love giving a shout out to vendors who do great work!
